The Mustang Club of Central
Iowa is a non-profit organization formed in 1979 to promote restoration, preservation and
enjoyment of driving these classic ponycars. The club is also a region of the
Mustang Club of America. Most club members are owners
of Mustangs or other Fords, however, ownership is not essential for membership. Members' cars range from the first Mustangs built in
1964 to current models, as well as a whole range of other Ford-powered vehicles.
Daily-drivers, top-notch show cars and restoration projects are all welcome. The club,
which has approximately 140 members, provides excellent opportunities for exchanging ideas
and technical information as well as for forming friendships with people having similar
interests.
The club offers activities
for everyone no matter if you like showing, racing or just driving your Mustang for fun.
The club hosts a large annual car show each June, organizes club
displays for events such as the World of Wheels, etc. and caravans to numerous area car
shows. If racing is your bag, you can join us at an area raceway to try your hand at drag
racing, do some autocrossing with other club members at
club-sponsored
autocrosses or join our caravans to various mid-west open track events.
Other club activities include our annual September steak fry, an
annual Spring road rally, monthly club meetings, picnics, poker runs and other family
activities held throughout the year. To see photos of past club activities, visit our huge
past events photo section.
